Meet Our Team

Dr. Rudd Nelson

Led by Dr. Rudd Nelson, a native Iowan with extensive experience in both routine and emergency care, our team consists of dedicated veterinarians and passionate support staff. Each member of our staff is committed to continual professional development to stay at the forefront of veterinary medicine.

Dr. Sarah Gingerich

Dr. Sarah Gingerich earned her bachelor’s degree in Biology from Smith College in Northampton, MA, then went on to complete her doctorate of veterinary medicine at Purdue University.  After graduating from vet school in 2005, Dr. Gingerich practiced in Chicago and Iowa City.  After a few years practicing in northern Indiana, Dr. Gingerich is happy to be back in the Iowa City area

Dr. Gingerich spent many years of her career working in emergency medicine and is excited to be back in general practice, where she can develop lasting relationships with her clients and their pets.  Outside of work, Dr. Gingerich enjoys spending time with her husbandtwo children, and their pets.  She enjoys being active-- taking Orangetheory classes and long walks with her dogs. Dr. Gingerich loves cooking, reading books and listening to podcasts

Aubrey-head receptionist

Aubrey is married and the proud mom of three energetic boys. Her family also includes a beloved dog and two cats who keep life fun and full of love. Having worked in veterinary hospitals on and off over the years, Aubrey has truly found her home at Goosetown Animal Hospital.  She enjoys helping clients schedule appointments, answering questions, and ensuring every visit starts with a warm welcome. Aubrey takes pride in being the first friendly face clients see and in setting the tone for the compassionate care they can expect from the Goosetown team.

Felicity

Felicity moved from Green Bay, Wisconsin, almost four years ago to Iowa City with a goal to earn a degree in Biomedical Engineering on the pre-vet track. She is joined by her two Italian Greyhounds, who have inspired her love for animals and continue to motivate her career path.
Felicity’s favorite part of her role at Goosetown Animal Hospital is building relationships with clients and getting to know their pets. She also helps manage a few of the hospital’s social media pages, sharing updates and stories that highlight the care and compassion of the Goosetown team.

Dr. Beth Hinson

Beth Hinson grew up in the small town of Mediapolis, Iowa, where her passion for medicine and helping others began early. While just starting college, Beth earned her paramedic license, a milestone that would shape her commitment to care and service. She attended the University of Iowa, where she earned her bachelor's degree in biology, and later pursued her dream of becoming a veterinarian by attending Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. Beth completed her clinical year at Louisiana State University, working alongside talented veterinarians who helped refine her skills and deepen her knowledge. After graduation, she moved to Chillicothe, Ohio, where she had the unique opportunity to learn veterinary medicine from seasoned practitioners who had been serving the profession for as long as Beth had been alive. In 2011, the pull of home brought her back to Iowa, where she first worked in Coralville, then in Mount Vernon, before returning once again to Coralville to join the team at Goosetown Animal Hospital. Never one to stop learning, Beth is currently pursuing her Master of Public Health (MPH) degree for practicing veterinarians through the University of Iowa. When not working or studying, Beth enjoys a wide range of hobbies, including cross-stitching, reading, glasswork, walking, riding bikes, cooking, baking, and curling. Her many talents and dedication to her community and profession continue to make her a valued part of the Goosetown family.
